Ben has a keen interest in the world of rudimental drumming and developments in the emerging Australian drum corps movement. His own works draw inspiration from the country's humble colonial beginnings.

Ben was born in the Netherlands where he played piano and snare drum from a young age. His family later migrated to Australia, where Ben studied percussion throughout school and university. Ben serves as a percussionist in the Royal Australian Air Force Band and the Air Force Drum Corps.

Ben is based in Melbourne, Australia. He has an interest in history and enjoys the outdoors.
